Premier League leaders Chelsea have qualified for the final of the 2016/2017 FA Cup final after defeating Tottenham 4-2 in an explosive encounter on Saturday, April 22, 2017.
The Blues opened the scoring through Willian who shot his side ahead barely 5 minutes into the epic fixture. In a dramatic fashion, Spurs restored parity for the in-form Tottenham in the 18th minute as the game gradually progressed into a highly entertaining showdown.
Again it was Willian who put the Blues ahead when he scored from the spot in the 43rd minute as both teams went into the break with the Blues leading 2 – 1. Like a wounded lion, Spurs raised their game right from the start of the second half and were eventually rewarded in the 52nd minute when Dele Alli beat Chelsea defense to draw his side level yet again to make it 2-2.
Eden Hazard came off the bench to score the third goal for the Blues in the 75th minute before Nemanja Matic‘ sensational strike from about 30-yeards-out in the 80th minute condemned Spurs to a defeat. It ended; Chelsea 4 – 2Tottenham.
Chelsea face the winner of the second semi-final clash between Arsenal and Manchester City in the final. The Gunners tackle the Citizens on Sunday, April 23.
